Welcome to Virtual Vein Center

Virtual Vein Center was conceived and developed to provide a source where the knowledge and techniques used daily within the Phlebology and vascular ultrasound community are readily available from a variety experts. Simply choose your courses and view at your convenience. Following the presentation, take a quiz assessing the knowledge gained and if successful, simply complete a short course evaluation prior to claiming Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit which you may immediately download and print. We have partnered with North Country Vascular Diagnostics in order to provide you with Category 1 Credit for many of the courses offered. Your courses, results, and CME will be stored in your account for future reference!

To view a course, simply choose the title from the course tab at "your account" and navigate through the links highlighted in blue under the course outline. You must successfully complete each activity before proceeding to the next.

These activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Albany Medical College and North Country Vascular Diagnostics. Albany Medical College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Albany Medical College designates this enduring material for a maximum of 30 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

While not specific to veins, duplex ultrasound has broad application in the entire vascular system. In fact, the impetus for development was for the study of the extracranial carotid arteries.  Ultrasound has proven extremely accurate in this appliction but controversies over various diagnostic criteria persists. Do you know what criteria you use and how it was developed? Importantly, do you know how a gold standard or correlative test is actually measured in determining the degree of stenosis. We have developed a presentation that covers criteria for categorizing disease in the extracranial carotid arteries with duplex ultrasound.  Additionally, a number of clinical trials affecting the clinical course of these patients and the measurement methodologies employed by other imaging technologies are outlined. For a limited time, we are pleased to offer you free CME for this course. You will need to create a Virtual Vein Center user account and then then register for the course "Measurement Methodology and Duplex Ultrasound Criteria in Extracranial Carotid Examination" found in the ultrasound interpretation section or to go there click the link - Free Course   At checkout, simply enter the promotional code  vvcpromo  click the blue ADD COUPON link, the balance will go to $0 and its free!   For more information, the video below provides an overview of the Virtual Vein Center web site including presentation examples, how to navigate through the course, as well as all the other resources available.
